If you ever go to school in Tamale, then you are inviting stress for yourself, my brother once said to me
because he had a hard time adjusting to an environment, quite different from what he was used to in
Southern Ghana.
I, on the other hand, enjoyed every bit of it, an irony right? The region has in abundance what those in
the diaspora don't get often, the sun, and as such they do not joke with it when it is summertime, a
blessing to us right? Here are some of the interesting places to visit and things to try at Tamale, talking
from experience.
Tamale sports stadium
This place has been built to hold a capacity of over 20,000 people and hosted some playoffs during the
2008 African Cup of Nations, a historical moment in Ghanaian football. It is open, serene, neat, and just
a breath of fresh air to take some great pictures as well as stretch your legs.
The King's Palace
Gone are the days when Royalty was just from a distance. Now with proper paying of homage, you can
visit the palace, meet with some royals, and learn a thing or two about them as a keep safe for future
reference.
The Mognori Ecovillage
Known as the river village, it is close to the Mole National Park and is notable for its fishing and farming
exploits once upon a time. The village is also known for its long-standing traditional herbal medicine
usage. A few minutes walk will lead one to the white volta. A visit here allows one to experience what it
feels like to be in a village setting, undisrupted by the issues of modern life.
Take a bike tour
One interesting thing you can do at Tamale is to take a bike tour which is also a means of movement
here among the men, women, and children, which is very different from most parts in the Southern part
of Ghana. A new and exciting activity altogether.
Larabanga Mosque
Like its name, it is located in Larabanga and is a mosque where Muslims pray. One unique thing about
this mosque is that it is dated way back to 1421 but is still standing, making it one of the historical places
the town can boast of and it has an intriguing interior quite bold compared to today.
Try their delicacies

The people of the North, have different delicacies that are not only appetizing but also delicious and
healthy as well. Must try is the TZ, also called Tuo Zaafi, Wasawasa, Local Jollof, Zonkom drink made
from millet, and also Brukina which is my favorite.
Mole National Park
This is a place where some of the beautiful natural spices are harbored. Some of them are Elephants,
Buffalo, Roan Antelope, Black, and white Columbus monkeys and so on which is a haven for lovers of
animals.
Hopefully, this write-up serve as a guide to adventurous individuals looking to experience something
different.
